- Why is this test important?
- Pharmacogenomics allows your drug treatment to be personalized based on your unique genetics. It can reduce trial and error in drug selection and dosing regimens. By predicting how you’ll respond to medications, you can avoid unwanted side effects, allergic reactions, and dangerous interactions. This maximizes treatment safety and effectiveness from the start, improving your overall health outcomes and quality of life. Order UGenome’s Personalized Medication Service!

- Will I need to repeat this test in the future, or is it a one-time process?
- A PGx test usually only needs to be done once. However, as new research and treatments become available, we may re-evaluate the data from your test to give you updated information. You won’t need to retake the test to benefit from this. As new genetic variants are discovered, our lab might test for more variants in the future than are currently included in the PGx panel. If you’re interested in checking for these additional variants later on, you can choose to retake the PGx test with a more comprehensive panel at that time.
